Scriber Lake Park is a nature reserve in central Lynnwood, and Wilcox Park, established in 1962, was the city's first park. Alderwood Mall, which opened in 1979, anchors the city's shopping district, and the Lynnwood Convention Center opened in 2005.

Getting around

Link light rail reached Lynnwood City Center station on August 30, 2024, connecting Lynnwood directly to Shoreline, the University of Washington and downtown Seattle. I-5 and I-405 meet just east of the city, and the Interurban Trail runs along its southern edge.

A little history

Lynnwood takes its name from Lynn O'Beirn, wife of Seattle realtor Karl O'Beirn, who filed a plat along Highway 99 in 1937. The city incorporated in 1959. Today Lynnwood is home to about 43,100 people (Washington OFM, April 1, 2026 estimate).
